Interested in volunteering within Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company? There are many opportunies, on both the fire and EMS (Emergency Medical Services) side. EMS has opportunities which involve taking the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course to become a national/state certified EMT or taking the Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) course to become an ambulance driver for calls. As for the fire side, volunteer firefighters in the company will respond to various calls ranging from gas leaks, false alarms, structure fires, car accidents, and so on. For each call, tasks are delegated based on the experience of the volunteer. Their experience is gained through extensive hands on training which takes place at Delaware State Fire School as well as different in station training sessions or neighboring Fire Company training sessions. The Auxillary is also a chance for individuals to get involved whom aren't as interested in the Fire/EMS side of volunteering. For anyone interested in giving back to the community, we hold our arms open to welcome new faces into the Company.
